Prof. Mariela Stefanova Kamburova, MD, PhD, DSc, MHM is Vice Rector of Science and Research, Head of Department "Social Medicine and Health Management” in Medical University-Pleven, Bulgaria.
She obtained more than 50 courses and specializations such as: Public Health Nursing - Belgium, France (February-March 2000), Family Medicine - Austria (May 2008), Migrant & Minority Health - Austria (April 2016), Train the trainer –Barcelona, Spain (May 2016), Changing narrative on Roma in Healthcare settings –Ohrid, North Macedonia (October 2017), Understand Yourself, Understand your Learners (Enneagram) – Prague, Czech Republic (May 2018), Regional Training of Trainers workshop on migration and health for health professionals, law enforcement officers and social workers –Bucharest, Romania (September 2018), Roma health –Salzburg, Austria (March 2019), Promoting STEAM Education through Teacher Training – Palermo, Italy (June 2022) and Porto, Portugal (March 2024)q Education for Sustainable Future – Oslo, Norway (August 2024).
Her Research interests are in the field of Problems of public health - medical and social problems of population groups (children, women, Roma, migrants); Research on population health; Prevention and Health Promotion; Management and organization of health care; Medical education etc.
